Devastation

I found through my own painful experience that there are many options available to help people to recover after the horror of divorce. Many are out there in caves suffering in silence because the right kind of help has been hard to find.

Demolition

Old and new battlegrounds emerge out of the devastation. Not every battleground can be anticipated, outcomes measured, debris field radius calculated and covered. Memories, flashbacks, replays intrude and interrupt good days (when they can be had). How did this happen? Perhaps you are not sure if you will get through this. No, it is not the same as a spouse dying-it's worse.  Where do I go from here?

Reconstruction

Perhaps you are at the point where you cannot bear to hear the phrase, "We have to move on" when what they really mean is, "You have to move on- alone".

The answer is found in Isaiah 61:3-4 NIV

“…and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations."

“Because there is no freedom for My wounded ones, you help them recover. You recover them as I have recovered you.  I have need of them,  I will make them whole.”

                                                                              The LORD
